The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is also known as the Fuel Assistance Program. This federally funded program helps income-eligible households pay their energy bills. Eligibility is based on your household size and annual household income. Household income cannot exceed 60% of the estimated State Median Income. HEAP applications open October 1, 2025 for the upcoming heating season (November 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026). You can apply online at https://toapply.org/MassLIHEAP or contact your local Fuel Assistance Agency, which you can find on the MASSCAP website.
