Your municipality can lower energy use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by upgrading to energy-efficient lighting. Incentives are available for both non-controlled LED fixtures and lighting controls—making it easier to modernize your infrastructure and meet your decarbonization goals.
Eligible Technologies Include:

- TLEDs (tubular LEDs)
- Remote-mounted occupancy and daylight sensors
- Troffers and retrofit kits with occupancy, dual-sensing, or Luminaire Level Lighting Control (LLLC) sensors

- Stairwell fixtures with integrated sensors
- High and low bay fixtures with occupancy, dual-sensing, or LLLC sensors
- Exterior fixtures with occupancy or motion sensors
Lighting incentives have recently changed.
As part of the Commonwealth’s climate goals, the Mass Save® Commercial and Industrial Lighting Program will no longer offer incentives for fixtures without controls for large commercial and industrial customers starting January 1, 2025. Small commercial customers participating in the Small Business Turnkey Program or Customer Directed Option, as well as Municipal customers, are still eligible for incentives on fixtures without controls.
